16. 11. 2025: Knjižnica Piran
As part of the Piranski dnevi Piranu (Piran Days for Piran) events, architect Andrej Hrausky will give a presentation on Friday, 21 November 2025, at 6 p.m. at the Piran City Library. He will present the exhibition Forma perennis, Jože Plečnik as a graphic designer that was on display at the National University Library in Ljubljana.
The exhibition Forma perennis, Jože Plečnik, Graphic Designer focuses on the design work of Jože Plečnik, who is best known to the world as an architect. However, his design work, which began during his time in Vienna, is very rich and diverse. The exhibition therefore aims to highlight Plečnik as an exceptional graphic designer who had a significant influence on the development of graphic design in our region. A role in which he is largely overlooked today.
On display are reproductions and original examples of Plečnik's graphic works from the Plečnik House (MGML), the Vienna Museum, the National and University Library, and private collections. The author of the exhibition, Andrej Hrausky, has placed them in the broader context of Jože Plečnik's life and relationships with his closest contemporaries, providing commentary on his selection. Mag. Marijan Rupert, curator of the Manuscript Collection at the National and University Library, also participated in the exhibition as an expert collaborator. It was designed by Maj Blatnik. It is accompanied by the exhibition catalog Forma perennis, Jože Plečnik as a Graphic Designer, which offers readers a comprehensive introduction to Plečnik's graphic design.
