FOUNDATION OF ARCHITECT JOŽE PLEČNIK
announces
the Plečnik Award for 2023, a central public recognition of the author for outstanding work in the field of architecture, urban planning, landscape architecture and interior design, created in the last three calendar years in Slovenia or in the area of Slovenian cultural space. The Plečnik Prize is awarded to the completed work that best corresponds to the mission of the Plečnik Prizes.
The fund is announcing the Plečnik medal for architectural realization of a larger scale, architectural realization of a smaller scale, public space, professional journalism and a medal for the enrichment of spatial culture. The jury awards two Plečnik Medals and one Plečnik Award out of three categories, architectural realization of a larger scale, architectural realization of a smaller scale and public space. In the category to which the work that receives the Plečnik Prize belongs, the Plečnik Medal is not awarded.
Architects, landscape architects, spatial planners, theoreticians, critics, publicists, designers and other creators who deal with the practices of architecture and spatial design are invited to participate. Prizes can be awarded to the highest quality works, interventions and realizations of all criteria. The fund also offers a separate student award in the form of a scholarship. The Plečnik Fund scholarship is awarded as recognition for academic and extracurricular work after completing a master's degree.
Candidates for the award and medal can be nominated by companies, professional associations, jury members, authors themselves and all citizens of Slovenia. The candidate for the Jože Plečnik Foundation scholarship is nominated by a mentor or a higher education institution.
The tender is open until February 20, 2023. You are invited to apply via the form on the website plecnikovenagrade.si, where all the instructions for preparing candidatures are published.
The Plečnik Award and the Plečnik Medals for 2023 will be chosen by a jury appointed by the Fund's Assembly and consisting of Aljoša Dekleva, Matej Kučina, Meta Kutin, Anja Planišček, Špela Spanžel.
